: About once every 2 months I have pain in my right wrist (top of wrist) that lasts for at least a week and can be quite painful (it only hurts when I move it, even the slightest bit). There doesn't seem to ever be a common event that causes the pain, it just seems to randomly appear. I work a lot on the computer. Could this be the cause and could this be CTS? I don't have any tingling sensations and my fingers are not numb or sore. The pain always seems to eventually go away on its own. I just bought a wrist support today because moving my wrist was so painful. Will this help? Any info, advice would be appreciated!
I bet it's a ganglion cyst. I work on computers too, and started with the same symptoms.
The cysts have saved me from severe CTS (I'm only mild), because the pain was unbearable.
Get the surgery - I lived with the pain far too long. My left hand felt so much better after surgery
that I'm having the right one done this Friday 9/8.
Wrist splints, ibProfen, and ace bandage will help tremendously -
but think of the pain as a warning - learn CTS prevention excercises, ergonomics, etc.
