had the surgery. One had the hand opened (it took her the better part of a year to get feeling back), and several had the other. It usually follows that the less invasive the procedure, the better off you are. Same with anesthesia. You'll recover faster with less side effects from local than you will with general. You won't feel pain with either. Personally, if they gave me local, I'd want a Walkman so I wouldn't have to listen to them. Had general for another operation. Was groggy several hours and sick to my stomach until it wore off.
: hi! i am having carpal tunnel surgery on oct. 26-don't know if the doc will do it open or arthroscopic. has anyone had it both ways? and which is better? also, is it better to be put tto sleep or have a regional block? i am afraid of having pain with a local or regional. any advice would be greatly appreciated!
