: has anyone else had their nerve test come back as within normal limits but still have all the symptoms of CTS? my surgeon has had a few of those types of cases and if it weren't for my employer being a pain in the neck he'd have done surgery months ago. meanwhile my hands continue to get worse. I also tested normal on the nerve test, which has made diagnosis difficult. I know that I have a severe case in both hands, but the dr hesitates to perform surgery when test results are normal. I did have 2 sets of cortisone shots in a 2 month period. They hurt terribly for 24 hours, and then I had complete relief for about two weeks after each. It's worth doing for temporary relief, but it does not cure the problem. I am now back to my original state and I can not have more cortisone shots. I'm considering surgery.
