For the past couple of months I have been getting very sharp pains going down my arm but not into to my hand. When I get one, I will drop whatever is in my hand. My hand automatically opens up. I am not familiar with carpal tunnel syndrome, but I thought it occurs in the hand or arm that you always use. I am right handed, and this only occurs in my left arm. Does this sound like carpal tunnel syndrome? I have not gone to the doctor yet but would like to know what to expect.
