: I had surgery 3 weeks ago to releave the pressure put on my median nerve as a result of a broken wrist
: and dislocated radius bone. After surgery, the numbness I felt in my fingers increased to be about 3
: times worse than it was before surgery. I would like to know if anyone has experienced this personally
: or knows someone who has.
I had CTS surgery 4 weeks ago and I have numbness and pain in my thumb which I did not experience prior to surgery. The doctor (Worker's Comp) says it will either go away or it won't, and if it doesn't its not work related...RIGHT its surgery related!!! I'm not a happy camper right now. I will give it more time and hopefully it will improve. If not, there is no way I can return to my regular job as a legal secretary and handle the workload. I may have to find other employment. I recommend to anyone contemplating CTS to go on their own disability insurance (if possible) and have it done due to the fact that WC doctors are PAID to deny treatment, tell us there is nothing wrong and to send people back to work too soon.
