: : I was scared to death before I took it also. If you are getting the needle one done too, dont even worry about that part of it. The needles are so small you cant even feel it. But the actual EMG test with the electricity is very uncomfortable. But as soon as it hurts they stop and move it and do it again. Its a fast pain. Dont worry once you get it over with you'll think it was no big deal. I just had it done a couple weeks ago. If you want you can email me at Laree4@hotmail.com I can answer any questions you have. By the way. I took 2 strong pain killers before I went in. So if you do that, it willhelp you out alot. Dont worry though. Its probably not as painful asyour imagining :)
: : : I am a young 17 years old and on the 10th of oct. my neuro doc. is going to do the E.M.G. is there not any other way to test for carpal tunnel that is less painful?? i'm truly scared. help. anything i can do to make it less painfull??

: I don't know what people are telling you but it's not that bad of a test. The weirdest part is having no control of your hands twitch but you realy dont feel the needles.....it is more of a weird feeling then pain and it stops when they stop.......I had it done on both hands and it's nothing.Good luck!

I Had the nerve conduction test a few weeks ago at age 73 and it was no big deal. Uncomfortable for a moment, but nothing like going to the dentist.
