: My son, whos 15, had complained of numb arms for over a year when we took him to the Dr. He went to a chiropractor for about 3 months and did get some relief, but the Dr wasnt happy with the results . He went for test to confirm he has CTS pretty bad . They said one hand is past the splint idea, so we are heading to a hand Dr next. I never thought a kid of 15 could have this as he doesnt spend much time on the computer , but does raise cattle and works alot with combing them and shoveling in the barn. He wants the surgery now as he is sick of no strength in his hands and he plays sports too so he has to be able to feel his hands. My sister had the surgery and was very happy with it . Why are so many people against the surgery ? Thanks Donna
So many people are against the surgery because it doesn't work for alot of people.I had it done in both hands. In my right hand I got rid of the burning pain but I have no strength in my hand. I am still recovering from the surgery in my left hand from 3 weeks ago. It takes a full year to see the true results. I wish your son luck because this is a terrible thing to have so young. I am 33 and have had it 3 1/2 years.
