: i've run through my options; surgery is now the only answer for me. my questions is this: which is the best type of doctor to do the surgery, a neurosurgeon or an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in hand surgery?

Kathy,I had cts surgery done 1 year ago by an orthopod. that did not specialize in hands.I was told it was a simple surgery so I went with this guy.During this very simple surgery he managed to severe my median nerve half through.I've gone through hell over the last year......From all of the research that I have done since; my answer to your ???? is to find the best orthopod. in your area that does HANDS ONLY.He/she will do the best job for you..BEST OF LUCK .....TIM....
