Is this Carpal Tunnel or something else??

For a couple of days now, I've had a small amount of tingling in my fingers, and I've experienced sharp pain in the middle of the night that literally wakes me from my sleep. The pain is between my wrist and my elbow, mostly on the underside, but sometimes also on the forearm. I type quite a bit on the computer, but I also do a lot of research on the Web and spend even more time using a mouse. I don't feel like a type enough to have CTS, though. Are these the common symptoms of CTS? I read somewhere that some people with MS experience these symptoms...How do you know what you have??
