I went to the doctor last week because I have started hurting my hands without knowing it. (Ex: I only know that I have a paper cut when I see the blood. I also raised a blood blister with a nut cracker without feeling it.) I've also started dropping things more frequently and wake up frequently with numb fingers. The pain that I feel is above the wrists in the forarm, not in the wrists itself.
I thought "carpal tunnel" and went to the doctor. The xrays showed a little arthritis (who doesn't have that?!) but he never said that I had carpal tunnel. He injected one wrist (I didn't want to do both at one time) with cortisone and gave me celebrex and a splint.
I thought that I would do some looking on the internet this weekend and found that I don't fit with carpal tunnel- although my whole hands are clumsy, my ring and little fingers are the ones that go numb. I seem to fit with Guyon Channel.
I'm not trying to diagnos this myself, I just want to know if any of you out there has this syndrome and what I may be facing.
