: Suzy, I had surgery on both hands in 1997; January and March. I had extensive therapy on both my hands so that the site healed properly. There were different exercises and massages done at the PT office and then some I did at home. I know the one that I still do is to try to squeeze a tennis ball. That I still do off and on. I have two very tiny scars from the surgery and no pain. But I was off work until June 97 after the second surgery. I don't know if I could have gone back as quickly as you did, but that depends on each person. You may want to check with your doctor when you return about PT. I strongly advise it.
