My two beautiful boys have cerebral palsy and I would encourage you that there are SO MANY unknowns when your son is so young. You may be getting a very pessimistic opinion from your service providers because they want to be on the safe side. Who knows? If your son is moving from room to room chances are he will be very motivated to move as he continues to grow older. I cannot describe the joy of seeing your little one pull himself up in a walker for the first time! Or use a gait trainer and take actual steps! My youngest uses a motorized wheelchair and a walker and crawls when in the house. My oldest is more involved and relies on me to move him anywhere. When he was little he used to scoot on his back by pushing with his legs, but he isn't able to do that anymore due to his length and he rolls on his tummy when trying to scoot... then he is stuck! I am not minimizing your pain. I know how devasated you must feel. Try to find other mums and dads with kids with cerebral palsy, or any special needs, to support you. You are not alone. Welcome to the club! You will meet the most amazing, honest, down to earth, people on your journey.

Sincerely, Jennifer
