My 8 year old has spastic quadraplegia and bites her index fingers and thumbs - she has spasms and clamps on them and is unable to let go. We found the only solution was to make her some padded finger covers which cover the fingers she bites and fasten round her wrists with elastic, a bit like a finger stool - she still bites them but doesn't do so much damage.
