In Reply to: Why Don't Doctors want to diagnosis CP? posted by Marie B Wise on January 06, 2000 at 17:17:28:

:
: My son has a mild form of CP. He was born two weeks early and was blue at delivery and had low oxygen saturation. He was put into ICU for 12 hours on a Ventolator(sp?). Today he is four years old and is in the 1% for fine motor skills and is at the age equivalent level of 3 years old for his gross motor skills.

: It has taken four or five different visits to Doctors to have them give us a diagnosis of CP.

: It seems that Doctors are afraid to make this diagnosis.

Dr. tend to pass these children off to other Dr.s because there afraid of law suits, and don't want to be resposible for misdiagnosis,so they try to pass it off, especialy if they feel it was a hospital error,i just found out about my 14month old daughter, and its very fustrating because they use the phrase...she has a 50\50 chance of doing anything,so i guess only God has the true answers for us,when they will be answered????who knows.
Just finding out i'm devistated and mad and i do feel all alone, but i know if it was the Drs. child it would be a different story.good luck and i hope my reply made sence.
if u have any ?'s write at trouble501@dklb.net
