I am the mother of a two year old girl who has been diagnosed with spastis diplegia. Although we have given her a lot of physio and exercises her leg muscles still remain very tense.
This therefore causes her legs to scissor when she stands and also her hips to move outwards. We have been told by orthopaedic surgeons that if her abductor muscles are not released they will eventually pop her hips out. This would mean major problems later in life.
We are wanting to know whether anybody out there has had a child with similar problems and can tell us of their experiences.
We are unsure whether surgery is the best option or should we be looking at other alternatives first.
