: My son has a mild form of CP. He was born two weeks early and was blue at delivery and had low oxygen saturation. He was put into ICU for 12 hours on a Ventolator(sp?). Today he is four years old and is in the 1% for fine motor skills and is at the age equivalent level of 3 years old for his gross motor skills.
: It has taken four or five different visits to Doctors to have them give us a diagnosis of CP.
: It seems that Doctors are afraid to make this diagnosis.
Hi ...I am new to this board. I have a 7 yr old son with cp and the way it was put to us was that most doctors wont give children a so called lable until they have clearly passed certain milestone ages without progress. We had to wait until he turned about 14 months before we were told and in the meantime wasted valuble therapy time. This being our first child and with no close friends that had children....... we really had no idea that he was so far behind. I think a possible diagnoses is better than nothing at all. Atleast we could have gotten the paperwork and research done.
