I would be interested in corresponding with others who have children with mild CP. My son is 5 years old. He was diagnosed at 18months with mild CP. He wears a brace on his right leg, but does very well. We are always very thankful after returning from our 6 month checkups at Shriners Hospital. When we see how very devastating it could have been. However, there are so many little things that are very challenging for him and it is frustrating to watch him have to cope with these difficulties. Like you said they are very unique. With mild CP the obviousness isn't there. When people make negative comments or give me "the look" when Nicholas spits while talking or doesn't understand directions the first time I just want to scream. "He has cerebal palsy - REMEMBER?" People tend to forget when the physical impairments are not in front of their face. I hope to hear from others who are facing these same problems.
