Hi, Ryan. I've had two surgeries, 8 weeks apart. (achilles tendons). The first one was fairly painful for the first few days. The cast came off after 3 1/2 weeks because I got it wet. The biggest problems were learning to use crutches (I still can't use them well!), a very weak ankle when the cast came off, and my centre of balance was completely messed up. (down on my heel on one foot, still up on the other foot). I'll be honest with you, there were times I swore I wasn't going to do the second surgery. But I did, and so far so good. It's been a month since the second one was done. It wasn't nearly as painful, and I used a walker instead of crutches this time. THe cast is still on - I'm not looking forward to the first few days after it comes off. I know my ankle will be weak, and getting around will be difficult for a few days. BUT, it's going to be worth it. I've never walked this flat before. If you go through with surgeries, I hope you have good results, too.
