: Wondering if anyone can assist. I have dear friends in the middle east who are the parents of a 7 year old with severe CP. . . .
Your friends daughter, though diagnosed with severe CP is actually profoundly brain-injured. There is a place where her parents can take her to help her. One day, she could even be normal, though most people don't know this about Cerebral Palsy----that it is only a brain-injury.
ASAP---Her parents need to read the book, "What To Do About Your Brain-Injured Child, or Your Brain-damaged, Mentally Retarded, Mentally Deficient, Cerebral-Palsied, Spastic, Flaccid, Rigid, Epileptic, Autistic, Athetoid, Hyperactive, Down's Child," by Glenn Doman. Have information mailed to them from "The Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential." They are located in Philadelphia, PA, USA; but they also have centers in Italy and Brazil, as well as an office in Japan.
Their website: http://www.iahp.org
They have the answers the parents are looking for, and don't let anybody tell them any different!
