I am 47. I was diagnosed with CP when I was 2. The severe spasms started in my 20's. Mornings are very difficult for me due to stiffness and the medications I am on. I am a programmer/analyst. My main problem at work is that I function slower than others both mentally and physically.
I can only handle one person talking to me at one time, and it takes me time to formulate questions..
I now use a 3 wheel scooter to conserve my energy to get through a work week. Last Monday 8/29/00 will be the 3rd time my position has been
"eliminated" in 8 years. My employer will not give me the criteria they used as the basis to their displacement.
Has any one else had this problem? It is not my job performance. It is getting harder as I get older to find a job. Has anyone else encountered this?
I am going to be talking to a lawyer. I feel strongly it is discrimination, but proving it is another thing. Does anyone have thoughts for me on this? I am not a quitter. I do believe that things happen for a reason.
I have been fighting and proving myself all my life, sometimes it gets old.
I would appreciate thoughts and experiences that might help me.
Thanks... a once again downsized person with CP.
