: Would like to correspond with any adult C.P. person. Goal: Mutual interests, looking for someone like me. I can not speak, use a dynavox to communicate and my own signs. Am bright, confined to electric chair for mobility, living in Medical Unit of State facility. Would like to find a home, I have had a trach for 3 years. I must have a nurse accompany me to Easter Seals and shopping, church, etc. Now eat via G-tube due to trach, before trach ate soft foods. I have written a book called Carrot Top about my early years.
: Awaiting your response. Will be using computer at Easter Seals on Tues. & Thurs. only. Best regards, Connie
Hi Connie, although I am not a sufferer in any way, all of Australia, where I live, was captivated by the marvellous efforts of not only our paralympians but those from all over the world at our recent Games. I, along with many others, now look at a person's ability, not their disability and generally it has meant a whole about-face on our treatment of other human beings.
I found this site while looking for information on cerabal palsey as my favourite athlete from the Games, Katrina Webb (a sprinter), is a sufferer and shows no outward signs of such yet the girl who beat her in the 200m, Lisa MacIntosh, has limited use of her left arm.
If you would like to correspond I would like to hear from you. Regards, Greg
