My son has Cerebral Palsy and is in need of surgery for his hip. The Dr. who gave an opinion on this surgery wants to cut his femor (spelling) off his leg.

I am appauled at this request of this Dr. Therefore, I am getting a 2nd opinion. However, this Dr. indicates that this surgery is common in kids w/ CP.

Can someone help me and let me know if you know someone whose had the surgery and what the complications were. This Dr. seemed like a complete and utter moron. He couldn't answer a great many of my questions, and without a doubt I am getting a 2nd opinion.
