: I have a son. He is now 3 years and 4 months old. He is a very stubborn child.
: But what really bother me-he still can't to chew. In age of 9 months he tried
: to chew but he choked several times .Now even a tiny piece of solid food
: can cause a vomiting. He eats only "baby food" and refuses to chew at all.
: We tried candies, cookies, and every "yummy stuff" -he just licks it with
: passion. We also have a turn in long line in a hospital to get consultation
: But it will take up to 10 months, as his condition does not consider life
: threatening.
: Any help or suggestion will be greatly appreciated.
Tig,
I think you should look for a pediatric occupational therapist or speech language pathologist that specializes in feeding disorders. In my neck of the woods there are several programs which treat this kind of problem. Both are affiliated with large teaching hospitals and are part of a pediatric program that treats developmental delays. Good luck!
