Does she obsess over anything else? It sound like maybe she's obsesed over the scabs. The doctor probably assumed that it was itchy, which just about everyone would, which would explain why he suggested benadryl. But if that's not helping at all maybe she's got an obsessive compulsive disorder. Try taking her to a child psychologist, especially if she seems compulsive about anything else. The only other thing i can think of is maybe see if there's a stronger anti itch cream, but if that doesn't help either maybe she does have ocd.
