: : : : : : My four children, ages 1-8 get this cough twice a year. They cough till they gag or even throw up. This is almost constant. They barely even get a brake. They cry and say their throats and chests hurt. The doctors don't do anything, they just say give them cough medicine. I think I have tried everything. Nothing works!! This has been going on for over a week now. It seems like they might be passing it back and forth, over and over. Does anyone know what this is or what to do?

: : : : : Hi Stacy:
: : : : : My oldest suffered from a cough for almost a year that the doctors called a reactive airway. She would cough so hard she would throw up. They gave me puffers for her to use but they didn't work. Finally, I took her to see a Naturopathic doctor who told me to give her cod liver oil. In no time her cough was gone and has not returned. That was about 4 years ago. Now every winter during cold session I give her a little cod liver oil as a preventative. You can get it in different flavors now. The mint isn't that bad. I hope this has helped you out. Good Luck.

: : : : Where do I buy this?

: : : Hi Stacy:
: : : You can find it in any health food store or probably drug store. Take care.

: : Thank You Cheryl!

: To Anyone! how about when a doctoer tells you that your 2 year is prone to bronchitis? I too have a hard time getting him to stop coughing. I have just insisted on x-rays, blood tests. ect to rule out or help explain his constant coughing. Any input out there???

Hello Cheryl,
I have a three year old daughter. She has had a cough much like you dicribe, since she was born, off and on. We've been to many doctors and did all the tests including, xrays, asthma and TB testing. Nothing worked. Finally somebody suggested a sinus infection could be the cause of it. Sure enough it was exactly that. Maybe you should try an antibiotic which is what finally cured my Jazlyn. In the mean time, try to sit in a steamed bathroom each night before bed and try to help ease thier cough so they can get some rest.

Good luck,
Andya
