Not sure if this is where I should respondd but Effexor is now being used for FIBROMYALGIA pain control. It is an antidepressant, but I don't use it as such. As far as lifting depression, all the meds work on different people in different ways (trial&error)! If your dose isn't high enough for results, then you need an increase. Or perhaps you have a depression that needs SEROTONIN inhibitors like: PROZAC,PAXIL,ZOLOFT, some tricyclics. Effexor deals with the DOPAMINE component of neurotransmitters, SSRI's usually target serotonin only. So maybe you need to change drug classes, call your MD and tell him your current symptoms. Another thought I have is you may need a FIBROMYALGIA work-up(for tiredness etc.) It's the disease of the 90's! Good Luck, Antonette @Ezmarelda999@aol.com.
