: : : : In reply to Shelley's comment: This may be true, but how do you find out which surgeon specialises in rhinoplasty and has done the most revisions?

: : Have either of you thought of going to the medical library in upper wimpole st, w1, there is so much info in there for anybody considering cosmetic surgery, i wish i had known and gone there before i had my surgery, good luck to you both. Shelley

: Please do not go to wimple st. they are all quacks.....i do know....... I speak from experience....... Please do not go there, i have never given this advice before......but if you want a really really good surgeon, then please check out Dr Gault......of Mount Vernon Hospital....do not take my word for it.....it is your right to ask your doctor if he could put some feelers out for Dr David Gault, he was recommended to me by my doctor but me being so stupid, went to see him for a facelift and he refused to do one for me saying that he had patients coming out of his clinic that paid thousands of pounds in the hope they could look as good as me, he would not operate.....i was then 46.........he said that there would be people out there who would take a knife to my face but he would not......i did not listen and i ended up looking like a freak......my doctor was appalled at me.......but sympathetic too.....if you have a good GP.....he will make enquiries for you.......like mine did.....I only wished i had listened to him. All my love. A friend.

Dear Friend,

Shelley Does not mean check out a doctor in Wimpole Street, but the Library. I have been there too and they have a plastic surgery section where you can look up the procedure that you want.
That is when you find out about all the risks involved. You can take photocopies and armed with this information you can talk to your plastic surgeon about these risks etc. However, even armed with this information is not going to help you find a good doctor. However, at least you will know what you are talking about instead of holding the surgeon in awe. At least we can share information on this board. I have personally emailed many people and we carry on in contact with each other letting each other know how we got on with different surgeons. But, I have also had strange emails from people who are definately connected with some doctor, clinic or hospital. So be cautious.

Tina
