: I am thinking about having a tummy tuck after having four beautiful children and am most concerned about the scarring. I am prepared for the pain and discomfort but would like to hear from anyone who has had the surgery (preferably a while ago). Did the scar fade to your satisfaction and would you be comfortable enough with it to be seen in the nude? (Assuming you would be comfortable in the nude anyway!!) Thanks for any and all answers.
I had a TT several years ago for that extra "flap" after pregnancies. The scar is very long, from hip to pelvic bone back up to hip. It was only a few months before it flattened out, but it was about three years before it faded and was acceptable. The scar over the pelvic area is
much thicker than the sides, which are very thin lines and barely noticeable.Unfortunately, I am not comfortable in the nude, not only because of the size of the scar, but because it left me with a pelvic area that sticks out further than my tummy. From what I've read on other message boards, that is not all that uncommon, and something to consider before having it done. Good luck.
