Hi,

It has been suggested to my that I have an alloderm or cartiledge implant to support my lower lids when I go for reconstructive surgery in a few months time. I was going to have the alloderm but I am not so sure now after reading about it and how long it may last. DFoes anyone have any information regarding alloderm as scaffolding for lower lids where there is retraction. I need a mid -face lift as well to help hold everything up, as so much tissue and skin was taken from my eyes.

: Alloderm: (possible infection?/builds up small areas) Rib: (potential warp factor, plus you will have donor site wound/scar).
: Implant: (foreign object - infection rate?/difficult to remove once person's own tissue surrounds implant).
