: Is CO2 really as bad as they say as far as down-time is concerned?? I'd like to have my eyes and (maybe face) done but from what i've heard from these boards i'm not so sure i want to. Is there another way, besides surgical removal of skin, for the under eye area?
Hi,
I would not reccomend it. I had full face laser done for acne scars (with no improvement) and the healing time took forever. I still have redness (it's been a few years) and it's white under the eye (like a raccon). The whole face was done so it would heal the same color. I'm very young and the skin under the eye did not snap back. It's kind of loose now. The surgeon explained this is common because the elastic bands get damaged (or something like that) and don't snap back. Plus, if your young, too much collagen builds up causing scaring. Do you have lines or loose skin? Laser is not meant to get rid of loose skin. I read that steriods (I think) tightens skin when injected. I know someone who had it done on their neck and it worked. It's for very small amounts that are not worth having surgery. For lines, try peels. They seem to work.
