: My doctor (not a plastic surgeon) told me today that the stomach is hardened by a layer of scar tissue after a tummy tuck. He said my abdomen will feel un-naturally hard and tight after a tummy tuck. He also said it could cause problems later if I needed any type of abdominal surgery - that it would be hard for a surgeon to "cut through" all the adhesions. Does anyone have any input on this? I'm considering having a tummy tuck in the next few months. Does your tummy "soften" up after a while and take on a more natural appearance? My thanks in advance for your response.

Hi Tony,
More surgery? I know someone who had a tummy tuck last year. She ended up gaining all the weight back. Unless you make a serious commitment to keeping fit, it is not worth all the pain and money. Anyway, she complained of that same problem with her tummy being hard. I guess it's a risk you take to have surgery. To improve one thing, something else has to be made worse! It depends on what's more important to you and what your willing to live with. I personally would not do it. She said her tummy feels very uncomfortable and stretched.
