Hey Mark,

Are u the same Mark that posts in the ytf board too? If so, I got so, I got some q's for u regarding artecoll.

Anyway, hope this ain't too late, but about the jaw implants. Ok, first anesthesia. I had a "twilight" type of anesthsia. I was sorta awake, but not really. When I had chin lipo, i did it under local and other iv drugs... sorta felt drunk during the chin lipo. During the jaw implant (preformed by a different doc) I was more or less knocked out. I think the lipo was way more invasive, so in my opinion, I'd go for local anesthesia for the jaw implants. And you can actually request local. I did it to save $$$ and even more importantly cuz i'm scared of general anestheia. But having said that, neither types of anestheia (had hard core general when I had wisdom teeth taken out) are no biggie. I was a bit sick after the general, so obviously I'd pick local. But like I said, either-or. Which ever u feel more comfortable with.

As far as the results. It did give me a squarer jaw. My face was really weak toward the lower half. Even after chin lipo, my jaw and chin area tapered inward to much. After the jaw implants, my face is much more in balance. I mean, you'd be surprised at how much of a small change can make such a big difference. I can't really explain in words, but u just have see the results. Look for before&after pix if the doctor has any. Also, and this is going to sound STUPID, but look straight into a mirror. Then take ur hands and just barely lift the skin on both of ur jaws out (just a little bit). You will get some idea of what to expect. Anyway more questions, just post at ytf. I hate puting my email on this board.
