: My grandaughter, Rachel, age 16 months, 20 pounds, needs feeding tube, either gastronasal or stomach. We are pretty upset, especially Mom. Would someone kindly share their experiences with us. We need to make decisions within the next few days as to which method, I understand we can do this at home. Basically, it would be good to know how you handled all this...it's somewhat overwhelming, as we thought she was doing pretty good. Appreciate your feedback.
: Thanks. Barb
: racheal My 15 year old daughter has cf she has a feeding tube, she has had it since she was 7yrs
old,She wasn't gaining weight. I have found that
it has helped her through her bad infections. She
has gained alot of weight over the years. I have
been very satisfied with it. I have put medecine
through it many times, when she didn't want to take her meds.As a parent of a cf child you know
that, they don't always cooperate for there meds.
The more weight on them the easier it is for them to fight infections off. I feel that the feeding tube has been a blessing for my daughter.
