: : : I have a 5 year old boy with CF. He is doing well overall. He does have chronic nasal problems which tend to lead to upper airway inflammation. Every once in a while I hear lousy news related to CF and I cannot help but get down. Any suggestions on how to deal with it?

: : I agree with what Leslie said. Everyone is going to 'have something' I feel grateful that it is something taht I feel is so close to being cured or at least well controlled with medicine.
: : Sometimes we all get those panic attacks, I know I still get them and my daughter, up until last month hadn't had any infection in over a year!! She is almost 4 and in daycare fulltime.
: : We have had the flu and many colds in the house all winter and she has been the healthiest of the bunch. Sometimes I think that she has a very mild case and she won't be affected
: : much at all, then I wonder if other kids start the same way and then things get worse as they got older. I would like to hear if anyone has any input on that. My gut feeling is that my daughter is
: : going to be wonderful, I mean if she was going to get this disease, I thank GOD that she got it now and not 20 years ago!!!
: : As long as we talk about this to everyone we think can be of some support, we will all be just fine.

:Hi heather I have a 15 yr old with c.f. I totally can understand how you feel, Taking care of her is the hardest thing to deal with, I love her so much I will do this as long as I have to.
try to deal with today ,just 1 day at a time, it is very easy to think what is going to happen down the road, it is sometimes hard to cope and people don't always understand what our family's go through, and most of all what our sick children deal with. hang in there mary
: Thanks Heather for the reminder of how great things are going and not to dwell on what could happen.
: Thanks for listening. I am, overall, optimistic about my sons future. Every once in a awhile I need a reminder.I am grateful to have this outlet for my concerns. Keep Posting!
