I have a 7 year old. He has had pneumonia one time (age 1 1/2), frequent diarrhea as an infant. He was only 5' 9" at birth. I have taken him to 2 pediatricians in the past 2 years. My concerns- bulky (but formed) stools, it seems which are difficult for him to expel; apparent intolerance to heat (his face turns red when it is warmer and he is playing ball)and he seems to tire before the other children; occassional coughing; he is short for his age (on the low end of normal); frequent stuffy nose, especially in the morning (alot of nasal irritation). He had a sweat test when he was small (negative) and I still do not think the lab which did it really knew what they were doing- the gauze did not seem moist at all after removing it and the electrodes. ALso, the last doctor he saw gave him a spirometer test- his results were again on the very low end of normal. I am a Physical Therapist and when I mention my concerns the doctors are so sure they are right that they won't order a sweat test. But I know my child is different than others. Maybe there is no answer and I am just rambling. He has also had leg pains (attributed to growing pains). Should I be concerned? Please any thoughts or suggestions?
