I've heard many things...what is true?

My Best friend is I believe a carrier of CF. She didn't tell me, but I think she might have not told me to protect me but I found out. Anyway, I read somewhere that it effects the life expectancy of a carrier. Is this true? I am tore to pieces right now worried of what has, is, and will happen. I think she is getting treatments and is taking all the medicine. How close are we to get a cure? And when there is a cure...does that mean that we can help the ones that have it now, or we can prevent it in the future? I am soo worried about her and I plan on praying for her every chance I get. I think that we all need to pray to god that he will help one of these fantastic scientist come up with a cure so they can fix this. I am also praying for everyone else out there who has CF. If anyone knows of a place that has good, honest, trustworthy information about CF, please send it to me.
