: I am a 19 year old college student who is exploring my future options. My goal in life is to help make a difference in the CF community, whether it be helping one person or one hundred. I was a nursing major but decided that it was too dangerous. Now I am psychology major and am interested in couseling terminally ill children and adolescents. Does anyone have any advice for me or know someone with CF who has traveled a similar path? I had a similar situation, except I lost my mate and I too wanted to do something to help individuals. The route I took was to get with my State Legislator, (Florida) and we proposed new legislation to develop a program to assist Adults with C.F. The State wide program has now been in place for 1 full year with a pilot program in place for 2 years. This next session I will be working to have carvouts in new Insurace policies that will allow indivduals with Cronic Illness the ability to be covered with no waiting period. I think your desire to help people is honorable, and it takes people to make change. If there is anything I can assist with, please feel free to call (727-321-7044). I have since re-married, and my new wife Cyndi, 46 years young has C.F.
