: I have a neice with C.F. My daughter is getting married in October and just found out that her fiancee's grandfathers twin had 2 children with C.F. : How do we go about getting her tested for the gene, how much does it cost and does insurance usually pay for this? My husband has CF and I just got genetically tested. You should find a hospital near you that has a CF center. (we live in NY and I went to Long Island Jewish Hospital) It's as simple as a blood test. It costs about $250. After some calls to my insurance company, they did cover it. They needed to have it pre-approved by the insurance company and a letter of medical necessity sent to the ins. company.
