My 4 month old was just diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. We were in the hospital for a month when they found out. We had originally gone to the hospital when he wasn't passing the barium from the upper GI. He had severe reflux (we've tried every medication)...he was also aspirating. He had and NG tube for a while and they had to put a central line in. Only 2 days in the hospital they did 2 sweat test and both came back positive. We were devastated...but you'd be amazed what research they have done and discovered. He finally had the Nissen fundoplication...and is continuing to take his enzymes, Zantac, and Propulsid. He's doing great. Several things I would suggest...ask for another sweat test because there are such things as false tests...due to the lab person doing it wrong, not enough salt (sweat) collected. Another way of knowing for sure is the DNA test. They did the sweat test and the DNA test on my son. He is too getting fed by a G-button and it's great...as a matter of fact we get to start feeding him by mouth a little at a time this week. Just hang in there...and if you have to change doctors...by God...change doctors...this is your child and you want the best for your child like any other parent. You need to find out for sure. Please message me back and tell me how things are going...or e--mail me.. firstname.lastname@example.org
