: The MD who told you that everyother child would have CF is absolutely wrong. There is a 1 in 4 chance every time you have a child that she will have CF. it doesn't matter if you already have a child with CF or not. There is also a 50% chance that your child will be a carrier of the disease, and a 25% chance that the child will not carry or have the disease at all. I hope Taylor is doing well. i am an RN on a pediatrics floor and most of my favorite patients are CF kids. They are wonderful! : Cquill@hotmail.com : : My name is Kay I am a sibling of two that had cf. My parents had 5 kids and only 2 of them had the disease. We were truly blessed in our family to have only 2 of us with cf.If you want more children I would talk to your DR. about it. They told us that in a family with the cf genes that it would skip every other child and which it did. I wish you all the best of luck in your decision, and GOD bless each and every one of you : After our daughter was diagnosed last year, my husband and I decided that we would not take the risk and : : : have any more children. Luckily we already had another beautiful little girl before Taylor was diagnosed. : : : We had always kind of wanted 3, but 2 is fine. I am really wanting another one but I don't think I would : : : forgive myself if that one had CF too - I mean knowlingly bringing another child with a serious condition. : : : I was just wondering if anyone out there went ahead and had another child after having one diagnosed. I : : : would love some input. : : : Thanks : : : Heather Mom to Taylor age 3 and Jessica age 1.5
