Yesterday I had an old filling removed, a cavity removed from under the filling and a new filling put in. After the novacaine wore off, I felt a constant pain and extreme sensitivity (cold). I took 2 aspirin at bed, but it still didn't completely kill the pain. Today it's not as bad. I haven't taken any aspirin. The dentist said he didn't have to go very deep to get the cavity. What are the chances that this will need a root canal?
