Sounds like you may be heading towards a root canal. Im not sure what happened, but if it was a very deep filling, sometimes this can damage the nerve and cause it to die. Perhaps there is a small fracture which is causing the pain. An xray will determine if there is an abcess. The doctor can check using percussion, ice, pulp testing etc if the tooth is vital. If not, a root canal is needed.
