Yes, lingual braces can be put on the back of the teeth but are for certain situations. If your teeth had gaps versus being crowded it may be possible. Also it does cost considerably more.
Some orthodontists are making removable braces. It looks like a retainer and can be removed if needed. Such as for eating, pictures etc. But the more its taken out, the longer it takes to work. Also, twice the cost of traditional braces.
They can also use acrylic brackets on the front teeth, which are clear. Versus the old metal look. They tend to over time though yellow and not look that attractive.
Perhaps your treatment time wont be that long. Maybe 9 months or a year. If it is, consider just using the regular braces.
