It all started about 10 years when I had four caps placed and several fillings. Would get jaw pain with "sore teeth" and the dentist would have to do multiple bite adjustments before it would finally subside. Needless to say, I cringe everytime I have a molar worked on that changes my bite. Well, started going to a new dentist and have had four fillings replaced with caps with no bite problems. However, just had a fifth one done on very back molar last week and within two days chronic jaw aching especially after eating which lasts around the clock. Went to dentist and had my bite adjusted two days ago. He said I was hitting a little high and probably irritated a ligament. I am still having aching exacerbated by chewing and some of the teeth feel "sore." I am having to take ibuprofen every five to six hours which seems to control most of the pain. Am I weird or what? How long does it take on the average after a bite adjustment to feel better? Should I go on a liquid diet so that I don't chew?
