I went through this three years ago and now my dentist says the tooth should be extracted and that it probably wasn't worth trying to save in the first place (it has given me nothing but trouble ever since). I would suggest a second opinion and if they're different, a third to help break the tie. Most dentists will give free second opinions. Good luck...I know it's a tough decision.
