On Monday evening, August 7, I started to feel pain in my ear and jaw. They pain got worse throughout the next day and evening. I went to my dentist because I could not pin point whether it was a tooth ache or ear ache. He asked if it was one specific tooth bothering me and I could not answer. The entire right jaw to ear area was just in excruciating pain. He took a couple x-rays and said the roots looked fine and based on the symptons sounded as though it could possible be a sinus infections. Though he also indicated that an absess could have developed and we just couldn't see it under the crown I currently have. He gave me an anti-inflammatory medication. After a day or so the pain started to diminish and just periodically come and go. I think now I can pin point it to my bottom right molar that already has a crown. Is there anymore tooth to save if I already have a crown? I only had slight heat sensitivity which is no longer the case, although there is tenderness at that tooth. Does this sound like a dying tooth? The pain went away from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 a.m. the next day. Since, I have been in pain for two hours and its still going. Will this go away or should I seek immediate dental help again?
