I'm just about 40 and have too many teeth and an overbite cause by my tongue pushing on the top teeth all these years. I've pretty much decided to get the braces but my doctor mentioned these pronges from my braces aimed back toward the tongue. These are to remind my tongue not to rest there all of the time. Seems like OUCH to me. Anybody ever get this done to them? I'm worried about speaking simple letters like "L and T", let alone all the singing I do. I'm still waiting for the Dentist to have any patients of his call me who had those pronges installed. He said for the entire 2.5 years. Help.
