At my last appointment, my dentist told me I needed a crown on a broken molar (#2, I don't have any wisdom teeth). Unfortunately, I still have three months to wait for the appointment to have the crown. So far, two more pieces of the tooth have broken off (even though I am avoiding all crunchy foods and candy). There is less than half of the tooth left. My question is -- how much of a tooth do I need to have a crown? I plan to call the dentist and have him look at the tooth, but I hate to pay $600 if the tooth is going to fall apart when he tries to file it down. Thanks!
