: I had anesethia for my wisdom teeth. Waking up from anesthia is the strangest feeling. When you wake up from sleeping, you know that time has passed. When you wake up from anesthia, you have no sense that time has passed. You swear you just shut your eyes a second ago.

: Aside from that, I've never had any problems. I heard of people being nauseous, but I have also heard that that is a reaction from being given too much anesthia. I also never felt pain, I think they give you pain killers before they wake you up. The only side effect I have ever felt is a slightly sore throat. They have to put a tube down your throat to breathe for you while you are under, and that tube is out before you wake up, but it can leave you with a slightly sore throat.

Tammy, thank you very much for replying. It's very helpful and comforting to hear from those who have survived! I hope I can post some similarly useful message after my surgery. Lucy
