I'd like to have another dentist take a look at my #2 molar, which needs a crown but keeps breaking, so I don't know if a crown will work anymore. Someone mentioned in my previous post that my dentist may not be a good one, and I would like to see another dentist for another opinion before I sink $700 into a tooth that might fall apart anyway (I certainly don't mind spending the money if the tooth can be saved).

My question is, are dentists like doctors, can you just call one up and ask for a second opinion? If so, what could I expect to pay for such an opinion? Sorry for the lack of knowledge, I have never had trouble with my teeth (which I am grateful for), so I am kind of inexperienced at this.
